36: Suffering for Art

I’m shell shocked. I’ll get back to you when I recover my faculties.

Half Cows

Posted by Dawn Jones on July 13, 2007

Artist in residence

You can keep your half cows and soiled sheets, I like the classics. Either sunflowers or black and white men with babies.

Love & Light,

Omelettes and Artists

Posted by Ian Jones on July 13, 2007

The Joneses visit Montmartre

I had an omelette within 50 yards of this church.

Montmartre is a big hill covered with drunk artists. While they paint or
draw or dab, everyone just comes up behind them and has a look. That sort
of thing can be very offputting which is why I do my dabbing in my room.
No wonder they all drink.

Mime’s the word

Mime's a happy life

Look at this mime bringing joy to the passers by. I wish I could’ve.

Practical

Posted by Ian Jones on July 12, 2007

Ian's funky new flip flops

Because of recent shoe problems I’ve got used to being mainly barefoot.

However, as well as cafes, artists, etc, the streets of Paris are strewn with yellow dog muck, so Dawn lent me some wicker flip flops she’d gone off, proving they’re quite practical and that one size fits all.

34: Circle Time

Posted by Jonti Bloom on July 11, 2007

Circle time indeed! This documentary is fast becoming Dawn Joneses’ jamboree of hippy pap. Jonti Bloom has a big foot and he’s putting it down.

33: Back Stretch

Posted by Jonti Bloom on July 10, 2007

Jonti Bloom will be damned if he’s spending the night in a car. I’ve left the camera running on a tripod and put myself up in a posh French hotel.

Does anyone know if you’re allowed to drink tap water here? There’s only Perrier in the mini bar and fizzy drinks make my eyes water.

My Back

Posted by Ian Jones on July 10, 2007

Figues

I have to stretch my back most mornings as I came off a donkey when I was 8.

If I don’t stretch my back then there’s trouble. So I always stretch my back.

32: I am Jean Jamboneau

Posted by Jonti Bloom on July 9, 2007

Let it be known that Jonti Bloom takes no responsibility for what is increasingly looking like a ‘trespassing’ situation.

Huge Hands

Jeanboneau sign

I feel as though my heart’s been ripped out. Through my mouth. By a man with a sandpaper glove. And fat fists.

Loss

Posted by Ian Jones on July 9, 2007

Funky shoes

I can usually predict when fear will turn to pain, hope to resignation, queasy to proper sick, etc. But joy to alarm to shame to loss in the space of an hour is like riding a derelict rollercoaster through a series of dung-smelling graves.

I don’t understand.

Busy Busy

Here is the fish

Hiya,

I’d love to chat but I’m rushed off my pins. Those lads! The second I’ve finished tidying they’re up to their merry mischief and the place is a bombsite again.

Still, it’s clean enough to be healthy, messy enough to be homely and, most importantly, the rafters ring with laughter(s). Got to go,I’ve got a pie in.

30: Bruzzer from Anuzzer Muzzer

Posted by Jonti Bloom on July 7, 2007

It was like a scene from the 1969 film, Women in Love. Needless to say, I kept the camera running.
